Austrades New Exported Development Program (NEDP) Austrade and TradeStart offer a package of free services designed to assist small and medium sized Australian companies develop their businesses overseas and make their first export sale. The program provides advice and information about getting into exporting, export coaching and assistance on the ground in foreign markets.
Australian Customs Service – Exporting Goods The Australian Customs Service has a website discussing customs procedures and requirements and the facilitation and concession schemes it administers. There are a number of areas relating to exporting including export requirements; facilitation and concession schemes; an exit procedural manual and export newsletters.

Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) has information on export controls for food, live animals, animal products, fish, aquatic products, plants and grains. Go to the AQIS website for ANIMEX, the Animal Export Conditions database, PHYTO, the Plant and Plant Products Export Conditions database, and a wide range of information and services on exporting goods from Australia.
BizAPEC BizAPEC.com brings together a vast range of business resources and tools developed by APEC. Exporters can explore business opportunities; check tariff levels, customs and standards requirements; access relevant laws and regulations; find business visa information; and make contact with government agencies.
Exporting Working Capital Guarantee Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC) can help small and medium-sized businesses obtain unsecured pre-shipment finance where they do not have sufficient security to obtain additional bank finance. EFIC may provide a guarantee to the exporter's relationship bank, which then provides the necessary working capital funds. Please check EFIC's website or call 1800 887 588.
Export Markets Development Grants Scheme EMDG, administered by Austrade, provides assistance to small and medium Australian businesses to develop export markets by reimbursing part of their export promotional expenses. Applicants may qualify for up to 50% reimbursement of eligible export marketing expenses above $15,000 pa to a maximum of seven grants. Up to $150,000 pa may be reimbursed.
Exporters Guide to Government Services for the Furnishing Industry This guide provides advice on the range of export assistance programs and federal government information available. It also gives an overview of the furnishing industry and explains some key issues that you need to consider when exporting. The guide is downloadable from the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources website in part 1, part 2 and part 3.
